Welcome to our regular updates. Here you will discover how to create a funeral that is not only special but personal to you and your family.
There is no right or wrong when arranging a funeral…one must simply follow their heart.
Bryan J. Reid Funeral Services is an Australian Owned, and family operated company which has operated successfully for over 20 years.
So welcome to our website and our family. Always remember, when enquiring about what a funeral director has to offer, ask questions and be involved. This will ensure that you receive the funeral service you and your family want, not the funeral service that is “given” to you.
Kindest Regards, Bryan J. Reid Bryan J Reid Funeral Services
Only recently, our family said goodbye to a friend, mentor and work colleague. Allan was a shining example of what love and community is and needs. We will always miss him.
Allan was always helping people, lifting them up, and allowing their potential to be reached. He touched the lives of many, and even when we said goodbye, I felt many were moved with what was a special and unique memorial service.
Allan requested a private cremation (direct cremation). A Hawaiian “Paddle Out” Farewell was what both Allan and his family wanted as the Memorial Service. This was very personal to Allan as he was a guardian of the ocean, a Waterman, who devoted his life and being to helping those around him.
This day was beautiful, and we will miss you dearly.

The death of a loved one can often leave you feeling devastated and distressed. Funeral arrangements can add even more stress and it is during that time that you need guidance to ensure the funeral service will run smoothly. Bryan J Reid Funeral Services Sydney will provide guidance and support to alleviate the stress that accompanies funeral arrangements. Here are five of the most important things you need to consider when arranging a funeral.
Cremation or Burial
Deciding whether to cremate or bury your loved one is one of the first things you need to consider when arranging a funeral. If your loved one had expressed their final wishes to you this will be an easier decision.
The casket will likely be the most expensive item of the funeral. A variety of caskets are available to choose from including cloth covered caskets, steel caskets and hardwood caskets. The choice of the casket can evoke a lot of emotion but Bryan J Reid Funeral Director Sydney will help you to make the best choice.
Location and Time of the Service
The venue for the funeral service is equally important. You will need to decide if you want the funeral service to be kept at a church or a funeral chapel. Once you’ve decided on the venue for the funeral service, you will also need to decide the time of day that the service will take place.
Who Will Conduct the Funeral Service
It is traditional to have a member of the clergy to conduct a funeral service. However, a celebrant or a family member can also conduct your loved one’s funeral service.
While flowers aren’t able to bring back the deceased, they play an important role in making the bereavement process a bit more bearable. Careful thought must be taken when choosing flowers for a funeral service. This is because different flowers have different meanings. Some of the most popular funeral flowers are carnations, lilies and chrysanthemums.
Music is an important element of the funeral service. This is because it can impact on the overall mood of the funeral service. If your loved one had music favourites, you may also wish to include them as a part of the funeral service.
When you opt for Bryan J Reid Funeral Services Sydney, we will help you to make the funeral arrangement process a lot easier. Our years of experience, backed by our affordable funeral packages will help you give your loved one the send off they deserve.
